You don’t have to find out you’re dying to start living-Zach Sobiech
Zach Sobiech is probably someone you haven’t heard of. But maybe you have. Over million people have been touched by his music. Zach Sobiech was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer. It’s not the cancer that defined who Zach was. Zach defined his life by how he lived. And from what I can see, he live life to the fullest. I’m really struggling to express what I’m feeling after watching the documentary, “My Last Days: Meet Zach Sobiech.”
I had actually first heard of Zach this morning. One of my students brought up his story to me this morning. I honestly hadn’t thought twice about Zach after sharing the story. I got tied up with the day and teaching.
But when I got home I had an email from Upworthy.com, which I subscribe to. And sure enough, Zach was featured. So I do what I never do. I clicked the link and spent 20 minutes watching his story. When I thought my softened heart could soften no more, Zach melted me. I can’t get this kid out of my mind.
He lived life. You could tell he loved life. I wish I knew him. But in a way, I do. Thanks to the documentary. If you notice, I was speaking in the past tense. Zach died on May 20, 2013. Two days ago.
But he still lives.
