Woooo Hoooo! Time for a mini-milestone celebration. Fifty straight posts in a row. I’m thrilled. Ok, done with the celebration and on to something way more serious….
Hi, my name is Scott and I’m an addict. Yep, I’m addicted to video games. I’ve had this problem for probably a good decade. Many might find it shameful that a nearly 50-year-old “grown-up” still plays video games. But I do. Today I purchased Mass Effect 3 and MLB2K12 for my Xbox 360. I’ve gone to console from PC gaming because PC gaming was getting too expensive. Plus I really think PC stands for “piece of crap.” Yep, I’m a Mac guy. But I digress.
I have a bunch of games in my current line up. I’m trying to rotate time between Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Dead Island, Fifa 12, NBA2K12 (in game 60 of my franchise), and these two new games. The problem? Time. I have this thing with two kids in college and a job that I absolutely love which really limits my gaming time. Oh, plus my wife and two young kids at home with all their events and activities take even more of my spare time. Lately, it seems that the wife and I have been fading out at about 9:30 at night and heading to bed. So that’s leaving me about an hour a few nights a week, if I’m lucky, for gaming. For an addict, not good.
The good part of my addiction is that my wife knows where I’m at. There are no bars and womanizing involved. I’m home. This is called justifying the addiction, if you couldn’t tell.
In all seriousness, I’m ok with less gaming time. I love spending time with my family. I’m one of those husbands that actually loves and adores spending time with his wife. I get “my time,” it’s just not as much as I’d like. If only we could change it so we could have 36-hour days.
Photos of the day are a mixed bag. My photo is ok. I like what the photo stands for more than I like the photo. Spring is near. What is one of the signs of spring? The local Dairy Queen opening! Best yet, 50% off everything.
My son’s photo is absolutely incredible. I really love this photo from Urban Outfitters. The lines in the photo along with the hues really work. I’m a little jealous (ok, not really).
