It’s a bit warm here. The summer vibe is upon us. School is almost over, temperatures in the mid-nineties and the health club pool is open. Yep, it may as well be summer. In keeping with that mood, I am sharing some summer music to help with the mood. I’m featuring the first single from the band Best Coast’s new cd, The Only Place. This is really good beach music (ironic since I think the beach is the biggest waste of time):

Since I’m in the video posting mood, I’m posting a link for a video I put together from a project we just finished in my two eighth-grade language arts classes. The assignment was to create a philosophy/saying of their life in six words. Students could create up to three different slides. They also had to find art work to go with and illustrate their saying. Overall my students did a fantastic job (though a few had trouble counting six words 
). Please check out the final product. My kids and I are really proud of the video. It’s about 12 minutes long because I combined the two classes into one video:
Photos of the day are more nature oriented than anything. My photo is from a walking trail at a local park. It’s not my favorite style of photography, but I’m fairly happy with the results. My son’s photo is a nature picture too from a local wooded area. I’m not positive where he shot the picture since he’s working so much lately.

There was one that said that, though she was not being a smarty. I actually thought that was one of the most powerful slides.
